First of all, I will admit that this is my very first firepit, so keep that in mind when considering my review. I decided to purchase this product for several reasons: 1. Based on the 5 5-star reviews here at Amazon 2. I wanted a copper pit for some aesthetic reasons 3. I thought the idea of a swiveling screen was nice. Okay, the pit works, first of all. However, we are using it on a wooden deck and I can promise you that you will need to place something under it to protect the deck from heat. I went to Lowe's and purchased 4 16" porcelain floor tiles to make a big square under it, and then right in the middle, I placed a 14" square 2" think concrete paver. That, or something similar, is what you will need to protect your wooden deck from heat. Now, I do not feel that I got nearly $150 worth of product in this pit! I wish I had shopped at Lowes or Home Depot first because they have some really nice looking pits for $160 down to $130. One they had was inset inside a square 'table' where you could prop your feet up on to get your toes 'toasty' warm. My biggest complaint with this product, however, is the screen. The screen mesh is too coarse to catch anything but the biggest of flying embers. But, it is very flimsy in construction and the least bump around the bottom ring will warp it (mine came out of round out of the box) and then it won't 'fit' on the inner ledge of the fire pit properly. After a couple of tries, we decided it wasn't even worth using and have cast it to the side! Well, there goes one main reason for choosing this pit. My advice is don't be totally taken in by the photos and favorable reviews because this pit is worth $100 at most.

This is a great purchase. It is beautiful to look at especially as the copper changes color after burning wood in it. Very sturdy.

This is our second unit. The first one lasted outside, used at least 75 times a year for 7 years. This is a very sturdy, safe fire pit. The bowl is high enough off the deck that we have used a bbq mat from Ace hardware and the deck does not even get warm to the touch underneath. The opening screen is the only way to go, it makes loading safe ( no hot screen swinging around ), and easy. We just bought the new one because the copper stared to get a little thiner than I liked, and the steel grate was warped after some rather large fires. Good Stuff, very happy with this unit.

This product was once manufactured and sold by a small company that catered to the RV world of consumers. It was significantly higher priced and sought after by many RV'ers that wished to have a campfire in just about any environment. In fact my first introduction to one was in the parking lot of a Cummins dealer in Oregon. We met a fellow RV neighbor in the overnight parking area as we awaited service the next day. As the night became cooler, he brought out his stainless steel campfire and several of us sat around and enjoyed a wonderful evening under the stars with the warmth of a nice clean fire.
Since that time I have watched for a good price on one and found this product on Amazon. I immediately ordered it with the intent of using it at home on the dock as well as on the road in our RV.
The firepit is quite well made in some respects but the quality and thickness of the stainless steel is somewhat suspect. I believe it is made somewhere like China now. It is light in weight and easy to handle. The burner is also stainless and the design is simple and effective. One thing I did not like was how the fittings were connected to the shut off valve. The brass connector from the regulator hose to the valve was almost glued together with a red sealant. Obviously the manufacturer didn't want a propane leak, but this is the spin connection that one would normally use to connect the regulator to the firepit. If left in this "sealed" condition the user must spin the entire regulator and valve round and round to make the screwed on connection to the firepit burner. I fixed this problem by putting the valve in a vice and broke loose the connection between regulator hose and valve. I carefully cleaned out the sealant remnants and reinstalled the connection without sealant. An easy check with soapy water confirmed a good tight connection.
The stainless steel top seals off the firepit when installed and all components fit neatly inside for storage. There was an adequate number of logs and vermiculite ash for a nice looking fire.
When I first tested my firepit I was sorry to learn the flame was insufficient and the firepit was clearly lacking enough propane heat to warm anyone. I found an email address in the instructions and gave notice that I was having a problem getting enough flame. They immediately responded and promptly shipped me a new regulator and valve which remedied the problem. I thanked them for their prompt attention to the problem and I look forward to many years of warm fires ahead.

This firepit is made so poorly that it cannot be assembled. The pieces are all crooked and do not fit together as intended. Furthermore, the cheap coating over the thin aluminum body chips away with the slightest touch. This is neither safe nor functional as a firepit.

We were excited about this firepit when we ordered it because it looked great in the picture and the price was much better than others we've seen.

However, within minutes of unpacking it to assemble it, my husband and I knew we would be returning it. I have never written a review before, but was so disappointed by this product, I felt I needed to.

The pieces are welded so poorly that they won't even fit together correctly. It is literally impossible to assemble this firepit as it came. The peg to put the outer rim pieces together was on the wrong side, so it wouldn't fit inside the next section; The portions of the rim that hold the bowl up were all at different levels, such that if we had been able to put it together, the rim would not have held the bowl securely. Once we realized that the first pieces were so poorly made, we didn't even bother to attempt to look through the rest, but I am confident that if we had we would have found more errors.

Spend a little more money and get a firepit that can actually be assembled and used.

This pit exceeded my expectations. It is very wide and surprisingly deep. I would strongly suggest ordering the cover for the pit as 1) you want to take care of your investment, and 2), there are no holes in the bottom to drain rain water. I thought holes on the bottom would be necessary to supply air and allow the fire to burn but they aren't necessary. Get one!

I just dumped my old fireplace portable pit in the landfill. It lasted near 20 years. We did keep it covered during the winter months as we live in CT. It was outside for twenty years for many years of fires. Make sure you put play sand (or beach) in the bottom so it does not fire up the metal but the sand! This will also add to the stability. I saw a nice add on in another review and that was to add a few holes where the screen and base meet up to make sure the screen does not move when putting wood in, or adjusting the fire. It also gives a sense of security not having to think the whole thing could topple over and burn your deck etc. I liked the idea, and the drill is out for the tweak. This burner is just the pits!!! Ha Ha.
